My sister and I found this Gem as we were searching for a vacation home we could get our families together to celebrate our mom. We flew into Grand Rapids from NC and found the drive to Saugatuck quick and easy. My sister and her family live in Michigan so they just had a 2 hour drive. This location allowed us to spend the most time visiting and vacationing vs. spending long hours flying/driving. The house is absolutely beautiful and thoroughly stocked with everything you would possibly need except your clothes! Every bed is pure comfort and as luxurious as a bougie hotel which was an added bonus since we could all stay together. The town(s) of Douglas/Saugatuck and the surrounding shore line are all lovely to spend time in. You can easily walk or bike to fabulous restaurants and drive to many more. Endless things to do in all of the nearby lake shore towns so although we could not fit everything in we look forward to returning. I have personally never stayed in a vacation home as organized as Madison's TCH and the kitchen is very well stocked. There is a grocery store and bowling alley right around the corner that even our older parents could walk to with us and there are more gourmet food stores close by as well. If you are a "foodie" this area will not disappoint. Madison was a wonderful host and made everything from logistics, check in, operations within the home seamlessly easy to navigate. We loved the screened porch every morning for coffee and in the evenings playing cards and visiting. The weather was a wonderful break from the summer heat in NC. We will definitely try and come back as much as possible!!
Stayed at this house in order to be close to the wedding venue, "Ivy House" in Saugatuck. Location was absolutely perfect. Also very nice Grocery store within walking distance. The house itself was amazing. Very well stocked and had everything we could possibly need. Loved the kitchen for cooking for family while there, really it had absolutely everything! Very clean! Very organized! Owners were great, very attentive to our needs! Would definitely rent this house again! Plenty of room for a large family and beautiful area for outdoor dining!
Stayed here with our 3 children and their spouses along with 3 little grand kids. Worked out perfect. Great accommodations for everyone. The children safety gates were very helpful to prevent mishaps. Madison truely wants to make sure everything is perfect for your stay. She is very easy to work with and replies back quickly to questions. The house is very well stocked with all the needed cooking supplies. Grocery store is right around the corner so that was convenient. Weather wasn't great but the screened in porch made up for it. Spent most of the time hanging out there. We would like to return someday!
There are trips and there are amazing trips and TCH made our girl week the best. We loved loved loved the location - we usually stay in downtown Saugatuck, and once we saw this one we decided to give it a try. Boy are we glad we did! The attention to detail and the heart Madison puts into it and cares about your enjoyment of it - is truly touching. We already told Madison to save us our week next summer!
The house was a great place to have my family that has been cooped up in their apartments in Chicago. We were really concerned about Covid and cleanliness and I have to say the place is pristine. We went to Cranes and Oval Beach and walked to Douglas and ended up eating mostly at TCH - no one wanted to leave the porch area. We all felt so comfortable and I was really appreciative that my daughters could relax with the little ones. There was baby gates installed, and safety items and a crib and high chair. There was 2 leather recliners that I lived in. The kids knew it was my spot. We will be back next summer for sure!
TCH SPOILED! TCH is AWESOME - the location is AWESOME and the amenities are AWESOME but it's the extra 'Madison' touches that takes this 5 star rental to a 10 star! I felt like I was in a movie set staying there - and lucky me - my brother gave me the master bedroom that enters onto the screened in porch. Sigh. Our group is already trying to decide what weeks (yes -plural) we're going to book for Summer 2021! Can't wait to come back!
What can be said of this gem of a getaway that other reviews haven't said already? We all thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home. We're a group of 6 adults that travel a lot together. We came for a 4 day weekend. My older sister did not find one thing to complain about - in fact she couldn't stop raving about the beds, the comfy sheets, the cleanliness, the kitchen having a good blender, juice press and 3 coffee machines, and our collective favorite of the screened in porch that we never wanted to leave. I travel a lot, and it is rare to find a home for rent that you feel welcomed at and makes you feel like you are staying at a JW Marriott Villa.I like clean and this house is clean! I personally appreciated that Madison went out of her way to ensure our group had a bonfire pit for our stay and provided everything that she did. We actually cancelled our dinner reservation and decided to take out because of that screened in porch. It's the best table around! No restaurant can beat it! My group will be back - and I am also going to come back with other friends. I wish I could give it more stars! Thank you Madison!
Everything was top notch, beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean with more amenities than we've ever experienced in our 30 years of renting! Madison, was amazing to deal with - she is so organized and the communication was top notch. We felt very well cared for and all the extra thoughtful touches are felt everywhere. I loved the TCH art bin and just her caring personality for hosting. ABSOLUTELY will stay again and again. In fact we booked a long Fall getaway weekend after returning, since we missed it so much.

TCH is perfection! The home is gorgeous, pristine, and stocked with everything one might need to feel truly at home. Madison and Frank are incredible! From the moment we began thinking about staying at TCH, they were welcoming, accomodating and helpful. No stones were left unturned in making sure we had whatever we needed, and the moment we pulled up we felt relieved and relaxed. Douglas and Saugatuck are great towns with so much to do, and it was so nice to live in the heart of it all, in a beautiful home that has so much heart. TCH was such a welcome respite from the monotony of being cooped up during this crazy time. We cannot wait to return!
Third Coast Hideaway is a beautiful home in a great location. It is very close to everything in Douglas and a very short ride or nice 20-25 minute walk over to Saugatuck. The home has everything you need for a comfortable stay whether a weekend or longer stay. We would consider staying again and would recommend this home for couples or families. We loved the screened porch - it is a great place to gather.
